Main-line sleeper
2600 × 260 × 160 mm.
A direct replacement for the timber sleeper.
Composite railway sleeper
Trains run over Rerawa sleepers every day, on tracks already in revenue service.
A timber sleeper lasts fifteen years.
Timber sleepers are produced with creosote — a carcinogen whose use is restricted across the EU.
Recycling a timber sleeper is limited and difficult.
For timber sleepers, that cycle repeats roughly every fifteen years.
Material
Plastic waste that would otherwise pollute becomes a sleeper built for more than fifty years of service. Close to timber in weight, Rerawa composite sleepers can be drilled and worked during installation, and coach-screw holes can be repaired with a compatible compound.
A timber sleeper and a Rerawa composite sleeper on the same track. Cracking and fibre separation on the timber; surface integrity on the composite.
Range
Separate sections for running line, turnout and bridge. Dimensions can be adapted to the project.
2600 × 260 × 160 mm.
A direct replacement for the timber sleeper.
RW-200 series
For turnouts and diverging track where a longer sleeper is required.
Rerawa manufactures turnout sleepers up to six metres in its own plant.
2600 × 260 × 280 mm.
Produced for bridges and viaducts.
If the project falls outside Rerawa’s three series, dimensions and other product characteristics are developed to the specification.
